Trying to find the best places to visit and make the best of your time can seem overwhelming. There are endless options of sites, museums and beaches to visit and thousands of islands. Here are some ideas that are close by, are not as expensive as many mainstream islands and can be driven to.
EPIDAUROS
Home of the ancient healer Asclepius, this site promises stunning views and history. Home of one of the largest ancient Greek theatres, there are several ancient ruins to visit along with a small but informative museum.
This is located 1 hour southeast of Corinth. This can be easily travelled to from Akrata on the way to Athens.
CANAL OF CORINTH
Speaking of Corinth, this stop is only 5 minutes off-course on the road between Athens and Akrata.
The Canal Of Corinth is a man made canal created to connect the Aegean Sea with the Ionian (East to West). A very fascinating site and perfect for some unforgettable pictures
There is also bungee jumping available at the canal for the daring.
LEFKADA
Mykonos and Santorini are world renowned and need no mention. But western Greece has many stunning gems that are easily accessible and equally as beautiful.
Lefkada, located in the Ionian sea, is one of the few islands that can be directly driven to. No ferries or flights required. Within 4 hours you can be from Akrata to Lefkada, while enjoying the views on your route.
We have also inquired for a group rate with a tour company for four days in Lefkada. Feel free to inquire more about this in the Contact section.
